ASC - Area Service Committee
The Umpqua Valley Area Service Committee (UVASC) meets once a month
Our Area Service committee meets on the 4th Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm at The Douglas County Court House in Rm. 310 Roseburg OR
UVASC Subcommittees
The H&I subcommittee meets once a month
This subcommittee meets on the last Sunday of every month at 4:00 PM at the Harm Reduction Center of Southern Oregon located at 832 Highland St. Roseburg OR
Definition & purpose:
Carrying the NA message of recovery to addicts who do not have full access to regular NA meetings.
The Area Hospitals and Institutions (H&I) Subcommittee is responsible to carry the Narcotics Anonymous Message of recovery into hospitals and institutions whose residents have restricted access to regular NA meetings. An H&I meeting may also be where such a meeting better suits the needs of the addicts within the facility. The H&I Subcommittee initiates, Coordinate and conducts all H&I meetings in the Area but may use other methods, such as distributing literature and meeting lists, to make recovery more available to addicts in these facilities. H&I has been created in harmony with Tradition Nine to unify efforts of 12 step work within hospitals and institutions. This Subcommittee, is a subcommittee of the Umpqua Valley Area Service Committee (UVASC),and shall be responsible to and maintain effective liaison and cooperation with that committee
Public Information & Phone line (PI)
The Public Information (PI) subcommittee meets once a month
This subcommittee meets on the last Sunday of every month at 5:00 pm at the Harm Reduction Center of Southern Oregon located at 832 Highland St. Roseburg OR
Definition & purpose:
The Umpqua Valley Area Public Information Subcommittee's
primary function is to inform the public about recovery from addiction through
the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of Narcotics Anonymous. Our purpose is to
inform the public that NA exists and offers recovery from the disease of
addiction. Our work is accomplished through service committee meetings and we
are directly responsible to the members we serve. We also provide community
awareness of what NA is, as well as how, when, and where we are available.
Literature
The Literature subcommittee meets once a month
This subcommittee meets on the second Monday of every month at 6:00 pm at The Gateway Faith Center located at 1641 SE Jackson St. Roseburg OR
Definition & purpose:
Literature provides a service to local groups and individuals
needing Narcotics Anonymous items, such as books, pamphlets, and medallions.
Activities
The Activities subcommittee meets once a month
This subcommittee meets on the first and third Sunday of every month at 5:00 pm at St George's Episcopal Church located at 1024 SE Cass St. Roseburg OR
